Expected on the market, Nissan gave it a green light to its new 4-door sporty flagship model. As of today, the first 2009 Nissan Maxima (eighths generation so far) was rolled off the the assembly line at Nissan's Smyrna manufacturing plant.
The new Nissan Maxima is built on the new D-Platform and is powered by the old but upgraded 3.5 liter VQ V6 engine producing 290 hp, using the Xtronic CVT, continuous variable transmission, with a manual mode and a Ds mode when you feel like a Formula 1 pilot. There will be two models, Maxima 3.5 S and Maxima 3.5 SV, with sales starting early this summer.
