The future Alfa Romeo SUV has been confirmed by Alfa’s CEO, Luca de Meo. He also confirmed that Alfa Romeo wants to become a ‘global player’ in the SUV market announcing the CXover will appear by 2010.

Nobody has the exact details on the eagerly anticipated CXover and it is only estimates that we can go on – most leak from inside workers! It is said the CXover will have LED headlights and taillights, be 4.4 m long and 1.8 m wide and be cruising round on some 20-inch wheels.

Rumors say it will house a 2 litre petrol turbo engine, with direct injection pumping out 300 bhp. This is going to be responsible for moving the future Italian SUV, which will also use a permanent all wheel drive system that gives 60% of power to the rear wheels and 40% to the front wheels, changing these proportions according to grip conditions.

All we are left to think about now is how good it will look. I’m personally hanging to see the final product.
