2009 Honda Pilot Announced

The new 2009 Honda Pilot is for real. In a press release these days the Japanese auto maker announced that their 8-passenger midsize crossover SUV it will be powered by a 3.5L V6 engine that outputs 250hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. They are also very happy to announce that it uses the last-gen VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) technology which runs with all six cylinders when power is needed or only three or four for fuel-efficiency.

Official specs noted that the 2009 Honda Pilot will do 17/16 (2WD, 4WD) mpg for city driving and 23/22 mpg on the highway.

Some brief specs include:

  • 5-speed automatic transmission is a standard
  • VTM-4 four-wheel-drive as an option
  • VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) with Traction Control and ABS
  • MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension
  • Aluminum hood
  • Humidity Control System as part of standard air conditioning
  • Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink™ (Touring only)
