Automill.com is usually in the business of reviewing new cars or discussing automobile industry news.
But yesterday I got an e-mail from a young woman named Emily who's using a new internet social network for an unusual web project. It's called Luxury Car Crashes.![]()
Using the site, www.kaltura.com, Emily and others can join together to edit a group video of car crashes. Emily contacted me via MySpace.com and asked me to contribute and/or promote her video collaboration
Luxury Car Crashes is a new video, but it has some cool car crash scenes.
Kaltura is free, and here's how it's explained by its owners:
"Kaltura is a free online site for group video making. For the first time, users are given the ability to create rich media together. Like the Wiki platform that enables users to collaborate on the creation of texts from any browser, Kaltura enables a group of users to collaborate on the creation of a video – or what we call a Kaltura."
"Users who start a Kaltura choose its topic, pick a look for the Kaltura page, and invite friends to contribute video, music and photos to it. Then, they can even edit it together. The collaborative result can be viewed on Kaltura.com, downloaded for later use, and easily embedded on any site, blog or social network as a widget."
"Creating a Kaltura is a great way to document events, to socialize with peers, to fansource, to strengthen ties of an online or offline group, and to meet and interact with exciting people who share similar interests."
Here's the link to Luxury Car Crashes. Check it out.
