Maserati's Deal? Try The $1,000 Monthly Lease Payment

It's not often a $1,000 car payment sounds appealing. But until the end of September, Maserati is offering what it's promoting as an attractive lease.

The 2007 Quattroporte Sport GT DuoSelect, which has alternately been described at "The enthusiast's luxury sedan and "the best handling supersedan on the planet" is available for the above-mentioned leasing price (with a good list of conditions) at Maserati dealers in California, Arizona, Hawaii and Nevada.

The Quattroporte has a Ferrari-engineered 400hp V8 engine and an F1-inspired DuoSelect paddle-shift manual transmission. quattroporte.jpg

The offering is available through Maserati Financial Services, and here are some of the conditions:

* Payments will also vary based on length of lease and options selected.

* Payment offered ($999) is based on a 24-month/5,000 mile per year closed-end lease for a new 2007 model year Quattroporte Sport GT DuoSelect for an MSRP of $125,260 and capitalized cost of $90,478.00.

* Cash due at signing includes $21,676.00, including capitalized cost reduction of $19,782.00, first month’s payment of $999.00 and $895 acquisition fee.

*  Total amount of monthly payments is $23,976.00 Purchase option at lease end for $68,135.

* Customer is responsible for insurance, maintenance, repairs, $.60 per mile over 5,000 miles per year and a $495 termination fee.

* Title, taxes, registration and dealer fees are extra.

And then there's the Italian manufacturer's parting comment:

"Maserati urges you to obey all posted speed limits."
