More than 30 configurations of the increasingly popular Honda Accord are currently available. Manual and automatic transmission, V4s and V6s, base models to the soon-to-be-defunct hybrid.
Add the rest of the Honda line into the mix, and the market is near the saturation point with Honda vehicles — the new Fit to the futuristic Ridgeline pick-up.
But Honda's influence will soon expand exponentially.
According to a report in today's (July 18) the Wall Street Journal, Honda Motor Co. will start selling cars in 2010 with its Chinese automotive partner, Guangzhou Automobile Group Company.![]()
The report detailed that the companies will combine to spend $246 million to develop a new center in Tokyo to research and develop the new yet-to-be-named brand.
The first models of the new brand, according to the report, will be derived from existing Honda models and will likely be priced below $10,000, about $2,000 less expensive then the based model of the Honda Fit.
Anyone have a good name for the new brand?
